In this video, Dr. Eric Helms discusses what rep range might be best for hypertrophy, or for building muscle.
Essentially, 6-20 or 30 reps is probably a good idea, where anything below about 6 reps will yield quite a bit of fatigue, for not much of a stimulus, and anything above about 30 reps gets to be about "too light" to do much.
