This year three models comprised the Riviera line. The coupe, Convertible, and the Riviera T-Type. Base engine for the coupe and convertible was Buick’s 4.1 liter V6. An Oldsmobile built 5.0 liter gas V8 was optional on the coupe and the rag-top Riviera. A V8 diesel was available only on the coupe. The Riviera T-Type was offered with a turbo 3.8 V6 as the only powerplant. All Rivieras were equipped with a 4-speed automatic overdrive transaxle. Both closed Riviera models were available with GM’s new Delco/Bose sound systems.
