Most singers think the head voice magically shows up on high notes — but that’s not how it works. The voice has a natural transition point where coordination, resonance, and breath need to shift. If you’ve ever felt a crack, flip, or strain “right there,” you’re not alone. In this video I explain why that point exists, how trained singers navigate it, and what actually changes inside the body when you move from chest voice to head voice (or mix).
We also talk about why this transition feels different for men vs women, why some singers push through it, and how others learn to float or modify. Once you understand the mechanism, the voice stops feeling mysterious and starts feeling workable — which is exactly what we want for confident, expressive singing.
This will be useful if you:
✓ feel your voice “breaks” or “changes gears” mid-range
✓ struggle with high notes or consistency
✓ belt until songs get too high
✓ flip into falsetto unexpectedly
✓ sing confidently until “that spot”
