Most singers hit a point where the voice suddenly feels harder — it flips, cracks, or gets tight. That spot isn’t random. It’s where the voice transitions from chest voice into head voice (or mixed voice). In vocal pedagogy this is called the passaggio, and learning how to navigate it is one of the biggest breakthroughs for singing with ease and control.
In this video I show you a simple but effective exercise to help you find your own chest-to-head voice transition, understand how it works, and begin smoothing it out. Once you can identify it, you can sing higher with less strain, better resonance, and more consistency across your range.
This is especially useful for adult singers who want to improve their mixed voice, sing higher notes without pushing, and build confidence in contemporary styles.
THIS WILL HELP IF YOU:
✓ feel your voice “breaks” or “flips” mid-range
✓ struggle with high notes or vocal strain
✓ belt until it gets too high to sustain
✓ can’t connect chest and head voice
✓ want to understand mixed voice
✓ sing confidently until “that spot”
✓ want a clear exercise instead of vague advice
