In this video, I show you how to do banded hip thrusts in a Smith machine, which in my opinion is one of the best glute exercises on the planet.
Most gyms do not have access to a hip thruster platform where you can anchor bands to it.
This is the next best way to train your glutes doing banded hip thrusts.
I love both the barbell hip thrust and the banded hip thrust for training glutes, but I feel the band always gives you more of a pump!
As you move into the top range of motion, the band stretches out more and gives you more resistance. The lockout becomes harder and forces you to push a little extra at the top.
Glute training is all about the lockout - you must get to full hip extension at the top of the movement.
Try doing 5 sets of 15-25 reps, with 60-90 seconds rest between each set. Your glutes will be on fire!
