【山梨／日本100名城】武田神社・躑躅ヶ崎館／甲斐武田氏三代の居館跡 - Takeda-jinja Shrine & Tsutsujigasaki Castle in YAMANASHI, JAPAN

武田神社は、山梨県甲府市にある神社。
武田信玄ら武田氏が居館とした躑躅ヶ崎館の跡地に建てられており、武田信玄を御祭神としています。
永正16年（1519年）に甲斐の守護武田信虎により躑躅ヶ崎館が築かれ城下町が形成されました。
館の広さは周囲の堀を含め東西約200メートル、南北約190メートル、面積は約1.4万坪（約4.6万m2）。
この地は、信虎・信玄・勝頼3代の60年余りにわたり武田領国の中心地となりました。
その後、新たに甲府城が築城され、江戸時代の政治的中心地となり躑躅ヶ崎館は破却されます。
江戸時代に館跡は「古城」「御屋形跡」と呼ばれ、武田氏時代を偲ぶ名所となっていました。
そして、明治になると館跡の保存運動が起こります。
さらに、日露戦争後には神社に武神・軍神を祀ることが奨励され武田信玄を祀る神社創建の機運が高まります。
大正4年（1915年）、大正天皇の即位記念に武田信玄に従三位が追贈。
これを契機に、大正5年（1916年）に「武田神社奉建会」が設立されました。
大正8年（1919年）には社殿が竣工し、信玄の命日にあたる4月12日には初の例祭が行われました。
躑躅ヶ崎館は、外濠・内濠・空濠に囲まれた三重構造で、空堀・馬出しなどの防御施設を配した構造。
神社の周囲にはその痕跡が今も残っています。
これらは、昭和15年（1940年）に国の史跡に指定されました。
甲斐の国の総鎮護として地元では、産業・経済の神として信仰を集めています。

Takeda Shrine is located in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
It was built on the site of Tsutsujigasaki Castle which was the residence of the Takeda clan including Takeda Shingen and Takeda Shingen is the deity enshrined here.
In 1519, Tsutsujigasaki Castle was built by Nobutora Takeda, the governor of Kai, and a castle town was formed.
The castle measures approximately 200 m from east to west and 190 m from north to south, including the moat. The area is approximately 46,000 m2.
This area was the center of the Takeda domain for more than 60 years during the three generations of Nobutora, Shingen and Katsuyori.
After that, Kofu Castle was newly built, and it became the political center of the Edo period, and TTsutsujigasaki Castle was destroyed.
In the Edo period, the ruins of the mansion were called 'Old castle' and 'Oyakata ruins' and became a famous place to remember the Takeda era.
Then, in the Meiji period, a movement to preserve the ruins of the Castle took place.
After the Russo-Japanese War, the worship of military deities at shrines was encouraged and momentum grew for the creation of a shrine dedicated to Takeda Shingen.
In 1915, Shingen Takeda was conferred the rank of third cousin to the Emperor Taisho in commemoration of his accession to the throne.
This led to the establishment of the "Takeda Shrine Dedication Association" in 1916.
In 1919, the shrine building was completed, and the first annual festival was held on April 12, the anniversary of Shingen's death.
Tsutsujigasaki Castle is a triple structure surrounded by an outer moat, an inner moat and a dry moat, and is equipped with defensive facilities such as dry moat and mount.
Traces of this structure can still be seen around the shrine.
These structures were designated as national historic sites in 1940.
As the general guardian of Kai Province, the shrine is worshipped locally as a god of industry and economy.
