How to build a super simple stereo class AB audio amplifier - good enough for a small coffee shop

How to build a super simple but great sounding stereo class AB audio amplifier from trash based on the very common TDA2822m IC found in things such as TV sets, mini Hi-Fi systems, battery powered tape decks and stereo systems, PC speakers, pocket radios, boomboxes etc.


I built similar amplifiers to this one for coffee shops, restaurants, shops schools, boats and so on as their simplicity makes them basically indestructible, but they can still sound insanely good and get quite loud.

Idle power draw - 0.11W
These chips are rated up to 1W per channel with an 8ohm speaker at 9V but I found that powering the IC with 12V you can go down to 4ohm and get quite a bit more.

I had to quickly throw this one together which is why the video is a bit of a mess as my previous amplifier used for testing got taken by a local coffee shop that said they only needed it for 2 days ... that was 3 months ago.
On the bright side, they did give me their crusty DENON that failed so could be a fun fix
