The Sepulveda Dam was constructed in 1940 in response to the 1938 flood and completed in 1941.
This was a bit of an adventure for me, because I went through the Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area to get to the vicinity of the dam. The unpaved grounds were muddy, and I even stepped into a puddle of water. It was neat to see some of the wildlife on the flowing Los Angeles River, thanks to the recent rainfalls. I will have to go back and explore the paths that I didn't get to cover today.
