TRIP REPORT | The Absolute Best Service in Europe! | Turkish Airlines A321Neo | Vienna to Istanbul

Turkish Airlines Trip Report flying from Vienna to Istanbul onboard one of the new Turkish Airlines A321Neo on a beautiful spring day with many storm clouds on the way to Istanbul.

A very comfortable flight from Vienna to Istanbul onboard the Turkish Airlines Airbus A321Neo. Even though the flight was fully booked, the comfort that the Turkish Airlines cabin offers in their short-haul fleet made it very easy for a less than 3 hours flight.

We took from runway 29 in Vienna and just after departure made a left turn towards the south to start our route to Istanbul. The first part of the flight was very smooth and without any really special. Some turbulence and high clouds over Hungary but that was all. However, things became more interesting when approaching the Carpathians over Romania: lots of storm clouds became to appear in front of us and the had to avoid them. The views of those were really amazing. These "natural monsters" can be really beautiful from the outside.

We then continued towards Bulgaria and the Marmara Sea, where we did the biggest part of our descent towards the Istanbul new airport. We landed on time after a nice approach over the north of Istanbul. As the airport is huge, during the taxi we could spot some nice planes. However, the nice planespotting session came once inside the terminal at Istanbul airport.

Regarding the onboard service, Turkish Airlines is known for offering one of the best in the world. Although they might not be at the same level as Qatar Airways or Emirates (in long-haul economy class) for European and short-haul routes it's amazing. They usually operate with planes equipped with personal screens in every seat, the legroom is really good and the catering is delicious. They offer a full warm meal on almost every European flight they do, something that no European Airline can say.

All in all, a great experience flying today from Vienna to Istanbul with Turkish Airlines. Both the views outside through the window and the experience inside by Turkish Airlines were great. I'm really curious about how their long-haul product really is. I'm looking forward to making my first long-haul flight with them!
