President Trump wants the U.S. government to own 10% of Intel in exchange for converting grants that were pledged to the tech company under President Joe Biden. The move would allow the government to put pressure on Intel to manufacture more products domestically. Terrence Guay, director for the center for Global Business Studies at Penn State, says Intel has been falling behind other tech companies particularly those in China. And he says the government is taking a more active role because they want to spur innovation and force the company to focus on the US economy.
