We finally upgraded our truck! After years of towing with our 2020 Ford F-150 XLT with the Max Tow Package, we made the jump to a 2024 Ford F-350 Lariat with the 6.7L High Output Power Stroke Diesel. In this video, we break down exactly why we upgraded, compare the specs, and share our first impressions towing with the F-350.
🔹 Why did we upgrade?
Our F-150 was always near max payload, forcing us to remove cargo to stay within limits.
We’re planning for a future 5th wheel, which requires more truck!
We wanted better towing confidence, especially in the mountains.
🔹 F-150 vs. F-350: Side-by-Side Comparison
We’ll compare towing capacity, payload, engine power, fuel efficiency, and key features—plus, the huge difference we noticed when hooking up our travel trailer!
🔹 Surprising Features We Discovered on the F-350
Tow Haul Mode auto-engages when we hook up the trailer.
Turn signal cameras give extra visibility while towing.
BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) extends to the trailer.
The exhaust brake makes downhill towing much smoother.
Factory tow mirrors (no more clip-on extenders!)
If you're towing with an F-150 and wondering if it's time to upgrade, this video is for you! Let us know in the comments what truck you use and if you’re considering an upgrade.
