The Rift Valley region provided Prime Minister Raila Odinga with a solid voting bloc during his run for the presidency in 2007. But some of the region's key leaders now appear keen to lock out Raila from the presidency in 2012, with support for the ODM leader fast fading after his fallout with William Ruto and a number of MPs from the region. But what is sure to cause ripples in the orange party is yesterday's statement by Agriculture Minister sally Kosgey that she will fully back Ruto if he runs for the presidency in 2012 and that she is not afraid of losing her position in cabinet over her support for her community's cause.
