In an environment where most library budgets are shrinking, interlibrary loan departments are often under pressure to economize. At the same time, demand for ILL may be increasing as subscriptions and acquisitions are cut. Workers at many libraries have begun to reconsider small expenses that add up over time, including IFM charges—the fees some libraries charge via OCLC for loans and copies—as well as postage costs and service subscriptions. ILL personnel from WSU Vancouver will discuss questions such as: How do you track postage costs and IFM? Do you charge IFM? Why or why not? Do you rely on reciprocal agreements to manage or avoid fees? We will also use an online poll to gather responses from attendees.
