IVF success rate को बढ़ाने के लिए महत्वपूर्ण IVF Procedure Step by Step श्रृंखला में ये तीसरा वीडियो है। आज इस व्हिडिओ में डॉ.जय मेहता Ovum/ Egg pickup के बारेमें विस्तार में जानकारी देने वाले है।

जब महिला को आखिरी Injection दिया जाता है जिसको हम Trigger कहते है , उसके ३६-३८ घंटे के बीच में egg collection का वक्त आता है जिसको डॉक्टर्स मेडिकल भाषा में Ovum Pickup या Egg pickup कहते है।
Ovum pickup के लिए trigger injection देने के बाद ३६-३८ घंटे एक निर्धारित समय होता है । Egg pickup करने से पहले जानना काफी जरुरी है की ये एक Anesthesia पे आधारित प्रक्रिया है। कोई क्लीनिक में मरीज़ो को general anesthesia तो कोई में local anesthesia with sedation दिया जाता है और ये प्रक्रिया की जाती है। दोनों तकनीक काफी सुरक्षित है। इस प्रोसीजर में क्या होता है इसके बारेमें वीडियो में विस्तार में बताया गया है। Egg pickup के बाद सामन्यतः patients 15 से 20 मिनट बाद उठ जाते है और एक से दो घंटे में patient को discharge दिया जाता है। ये procedure होने के बाद patients को bed rest करने की जरुरत नहीं है।

Egg Pickup procedure के बाद ध्यान में रखनेवाली महत्वपूर्ण बातें:
Patients को समझना चाहिए की शायद Egg pickup procedure होने के बाद उनके पेट में हल्का सा दर्द महसूस हो सकता है क्योकि ये ovary hyper-stimulated है , और IVF में डॉक्टर्स कोशिश करते है की एक egg की जगह पे शरीर में से ज्यादा से ज्यादा eggs निकलने की कोशिश करते है। तो जायज है की ovary का आकार बड़ा होगा तो जब ये सामान्य आकर आने की कोशिश करता है तब patient को हल्का दर्द हो सकता है।
शायद ही कभी patient थोड़ा hyper-reaction आये और और पेट में फूलन और सांस चढ़ना फील हो सकता है लेकिन १००० में १ पेशेंट को ऐसे होता है। इस procedure के बादमें कोई antibiotics painkillers नहीं दिए जाते है।
