Supporting Rafael: A Family’s Journey from Early Start to School

As children with disabilities near their third birthday, families face what can feel like a significant – and sometimes overwhelming – transition from Early Start services to school-based services. In this video series, we meet six families from different cultural backgrounds and language groups who share their experiences and insights to help other families prepare and thrive as their child enters school.
This video focuses on nine-year-old Rafael, his family, who are originally from Korea, and his school-based service providers who describe their experience moving from home-based services to programs and services at Fammatre Elementary in San Jose, California.
