The refit begins! In this episode I start removing the original 1980s headlining from my Westerly Konsort Crimond of Wight.
The foam backing has deteriorated into sticky dust over the decades, so it’s time for a proper strip-out before I install new modern lining and insulation. It’s a messy job (seriously… it gets everywhere), but a really satisfying first step to freshening up the interior.
If you’re refitting a Westerly or thinking about tackling your own boat headlining, hopefully this gives you a useful look at what’s involved.
