Super Six With Akshita Nandagopal | Maoist Commander Madvi Hidma Killed in Andhra Encounter | LIVE

Top Maoist commander Madvi Hidma — believed to have masterminded 26 lethal armed attacks and listed among India’s most-wanted insurgents — has been killed in an encounter with security forces in Andhra Pradesh’s dense forest region.

The operation took place in the remote forested terrain of Alluri Sitaramaraju / Maredumilli area, near the tri-junction of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana, long a red zone for Maoist operations.

This marks a significant blow to the left-wing extremist movement, especially the Communist Party of India (Maoist)’s operations in the Dandakaranya region.
