How Moana 2 REDEFINES What A Pointless Sequel Is! - A Disney Moana 2 Review and Analysis!

Moana 2 is Disney's next big animated hit!......For better or for worse. I was extremely underwhelmed when I saw the trailer and even more underwhelmed when I read the production notes! Lin Manuel Miranda not doing the music and instead a duo of composers from TikTok was weird. A character named Matangi being advertised as a villain when she's really just a sympathetic one off character was misleading. Yeah, Tamatoa she is not, and Get Lost while catchy is not nearly as good as Shiny. X) Maui getting another solo number that's not even close to as iconic as You're Welcome was disappointing. Nalo as the villain leaves no real impact. And let's not forget the fact that the plot is almost beat for beat the same as the first movie! And somehow this movie made more money than Wicked in the Thanksgiving box office. I dunno, it's not a terrible movie by any means, but it feels so pointless and unnecessary. I'm sure it would have made for a nice cute Disney Plus series, but as a movie it feels rushed and incomplete. But maybe I'm just a grumpy old salt water, so feel free to tell me why I'm wrong in the comments below. I just want big hits of animation to be a bit more experimental and unique. Not repackaged tv shows or tv cartoons with little to make them feel theatric.

P.S - Genuinely asking, did anyone find the Moana 2 Soundtrack better or as good as the original? I heard the composers saying "give it a month and everyone will be singing these songs". Do you think that's accurate?

P.S.S - Sorry my Moana 2 Review came out so late after the film's release. I was both sick and extremely busy with the holiday season, so I couldn't really pump this out as fast as others.

P.S.S.S - Was it true that the Rock really hated singing Can I Get a Chee Hoo? I heard some people say that and if it's true, that's hilarious. XD I know the songs aren't the best, but one of the cast members actively hating them is something I didn't expect.

P.S.S.S.S.S - If you want a good sequel from Disney that's both successful and subversive, watch Inside Out 2 please. It's technically Pixar and not Walt Disney Animation specifically, but it's still a lot better than this.
