After a quiet weekend to recharge, this week took us on a proper adventure—from the ancient walls of Chester to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct in Wales. We explored the beauty of Horseshoe Falls, caught up with friends, and squeezed in a whirlwind trip to London before Janet heads home. There were Jaffa cakes, cathedral visits, boat rides, and plenty of memories made.

A Slow Weekend & A Visit to Mum | Daily Vlog | Sat 26th & Sun 27th July (2025)
After a busy few weeks, I took things slow this weekend. I didn’t have the motivation to do much, so I watched some TV, did a bit of crochet, and popped round to see Mum.

Work Day & Janet Travels Up | Daily Vlog | Mon 28th July (2025)
I worked all day while Glenn got to work printing some t-shirts for the upcoming rally. Janet caught the train from Devon to Northampton—it’s lovely to have her with us again!

Vintage Retreat & Jaffa Cake Firsts | Daily Vlog | Tues 29th July (2025)
Glenn and Janet headed to The Vintage Retreat on the hunt for Pokémon cards for Oscar. Afterwards, they returned to Stoke Bruerne and took a trip on the canal boat. Janet tried her very first Jaffa Cake—an important British milestone!

Chester Walls & The Welsh Aqueduct | Daily Vlog | Wed 30th July (2025)
We hit the road for a two-hour drive to Chester, where we explored the ancient city walls, the stunning cathedral, and the famous Eastgate Clock. Then it was on to Wales for something very special: Janet’s bucket list visit to the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct. We spent the night at the beautiful Chainbridge Hotel, right on the River Dee, steeped in local history and charm.

Horseshoe Falls & Aqueduct Boat Trip | Daily Vlog | Thurs 31st July (2025)
I started the day with a peaceful solo walk to Horseshoe Falls before heading back to explore it properly with Janet and Glenn. Later, we headed to Trevor Basin and glided across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct by boat—it was pure magic. On the way home, we stopped to visit our friend Paul from ‪@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked‬ so Janet could choose a print. Such a lovely way to wrap up our mini Welsh adventure.

A Whirlwind Day in London | Daily Vlog | Fri 1st August (2025)
Janet’s UK trip is nearly over, so we took her to London for the day. We saw Buckingham Palace, the Changing of the Guard, Big Ben, and took a sightseeing boat where she saw London Bridge and Tower Bridge. London was very busy—maybe summer holidays weren’t the best timing, but we’re glad she got to see it all before heading home.
