This week, we said goodbye to Janet as her UK adventure came to an end, and after six weeks away, we finally returned home to Totnes. Glenn completed his two-day powerboat course in Torquay, ready to take our boat out for the first time, and we visited our newest project: a boat in Brixham Marina with plenty of potential. Between work, a surprise fruit loaf success, and figuring out what to do with padrón peppers, it’s been a week of settling back in, catching up, and getting excited for what’s to come.

Costco Comparisons & A Family Party | Weekend Vlog | Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd August (2025)
This weekend was all about simple joys and family time. On Saturday, we took Janet to Costco—she was curious to see how it compared to the US version (turns out, jacket potatoes in the food court are very much a UK thing!). On Sunday, we gathered the family to celebrate the twins’ upcoming second birthday. It was a lovely afternoon filled with laughter, cake, and little ones full of energy.

Goodbye Janet & Back to Totnes | Daily Vlog | Mon 4th August (2025)
Today we said goodbye to Janet as she headed off to Heathrow Airport to begin her journey home. We then made our way back down to Devon—after six weeks away, it felt good to be heading home. Despite the rain and heavy traffic, it was such a relief to finally arrive back in Totnes.

Powerboat Training & Padron Peppers | Daily Vlog | Tues 5th August (2025)
Glenn started day one of his two-day powerboat course today—he got on really well and, thankfully, didn’t need the anti-sickness tablets! I worked all day, and our Riverford veg box arrived. The surprise ingredient this week? Padron Peppers! Time to figure out what to do with those...

Powerboat Success & A Perfect Fruit Loaf | Daily Vlog | Wed 6th August (2025)
Glenn completed day two of his powerboat course with Torquay Water Sports and now feels confident and ready to take our boat out—exciting times ahead! Meanwhile, I baked a fruit loaf using a recipe I found on Instagram from This.Mum.Cooks, and I was so pleased with how it turned out.

Seeing the New Boat for the First Time | Daily Vlog | Thurs 7th August (2025)
We headed to Brixham Marina to check out the new boat—my first time seeing it, and I was really excited! Glenn had warned me it needed a good clean and a bit of work, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s got so much potential, and I can really see how Glenn is going to enjoy bringing it back to life.

Fri 8th August | Crediton Day Trip & Scenic Train Views | Daily Vlog | 2025
While Glenn is at work, I take the train to Crediton to explore the town, popping into a couple of charity shops along the way. The journey back is a highlight—between Exeter St Davids and Totnes, the train runs alongside the river and sea, offering some of the most stunning views in Devon.
