Tsunami | Ephemeral by NUS Guitar Ensemble

“Tsunami” was performed by NUS Guitar Ensemble for Ephemeral, recorded in NUS University Town Dance Atelier 2, Singapore, on 12 October 2024.

A Japanese love song, “Tsunami” by the band Southern All Stars compares the love one feels to a devastating tsunami. Performed by the junior ensemble, the soulful melody and gentle harmonic progression creates a melancholic and reflective atmosphere, conveying the yearning one has for someone beloved that is out of reach.

NUS Guitar Ensemble (GENUS) is a student-run guitar ensemble located in the National University of Singapore, and a member of NUS Centre For the Arts. With an over 40-year-long history, the group boasts a wide repertoire ranging from major classical works to Japanese anime themes.
