After parking at Hethpool in the College Valley, I set off on the St Cuthbert's Way to the English Scottish border for a solo wild camp.
After exploring the area close to the border I pitched my MLD Trailstar on the English side, I then cooked mince and dumplings with a French twist on my Trangia 27.
Despite a favourable forecast of light winds, the winds became increasingly strong with some extreme gusts during the night and into the early morning. Unfortunately a massive gust of wind literally flattened my shelter and snapped the trekking pole in half. Luckily I had just stepped out of the shelter to break camp.
A dramatic end to an amazing summer wild camp.
