May 15th 1968.
Footage of Frederick Forsyth's interview on ITN News when he made an allegation of atrocities committed by the 2nd Division of the Federal Army of Nigeria commanded by Lt. Colonel Murtala Muhammed in Onitsha.
Forsyth, a former foreign correspondent for Reuters and a former assistant diplomatic correspondent for the BBC, was speaking as an unaffiliated journalist, albeit one who was a propagandist for the secessionist state of Biafra.
He claimed to have witnessed the the aftermath of the slaughter of the 300-strong congregation of the Apostolic Church who remained in their church during a Federal advance. The church members were said to have been dragged out of the church and had their hands tied behind their backs before being machined-gunned.
Forsyth also alleged that pilots of the Nigerian Air Force (mainly Egyptian) deliberately targeted market places and schools.
