The Deer Creek Roadroad leaves the mine running parallel to Deer Creek, heading to a connection with the B&LE Railroad. Originally the railroad crossed Deer Creek on a trestle. When the Pennsylvania Turnpike was built a bridge was also built to carry the rail line over the roadway. From there the tracks weave through the valley past the old brick yard, over another bridge at the confluence of Deer Creek and Little Deer Creek, over Jacob Road.
Because of the elevation of the B&LE Railroad, a long gradual grade is necessary for the Deer Creek line to intersect the B&LE.
