Another Spanish harpsichord work, but this time played on piano!
Sebastián de Albero is a little-known composer of the Spanish baroque, and this is my first recording of his work, but it won't be the last. I plan to record a large number, if not all of his 30 sonatas on piano.
Each of Alberos' sonatas has a different mood and emotional atmosphere. This sonata, in b minor (coincidentally my favorite key), has quite a unique character that I think can be described and anguished and melancholy but not sentimental.
As Albero worked in Madrid, I decided to use pictures of Madrid that I made as the background for most of this video. Enjoy watching the video!
