Dr. Ringe pushes us to view daily interactions from a different perspective by showing us a view that we can not normally see. We see how relationships are made at the nanoscale, and come to a new appreciation for the world around us.
Dr. Emilie Ringe is an assistant professor of Materials Science and Nanoengineering, as well as an assistant professor of Chemistry at Rice University. Her post-graduate studies were centered around atomic resolution and three-dimensional reconstruction of alloy nanoparticles relevant for catalysis and plasmonic applications. In January 2014, she joined Rice University to pursue her research interests in catalysis and plasmonics, focusing on advanced optical and electron spectroscopy.
This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at http://ted.com/tedx
