In the previous video, I showed the disassembly and maintenance of the late-model round-can PHOEBUS 725, and for comparison, I lit up my brother's early-model square-can 725, but it caught fire from the fuel port.
There was also a fuel leak at the base of the spindle, so I tightened the nut, but the handle was still stiff, so I disassembled and serviced it.
The head structure is the same as the early-model square-can PHOEBUS 625 that I previously introduced. This time, I used a washer and pin to pull out the spindle, one of the most difficult aspects of PHOEBUS disassembly.
Disassembling the tank and head, another difficult aspect of disassembly, which was difficult in the previous video on the late-model round-can 725, came off easily thanks to the use of a belt wrench.
This time, I also tried replacing the 725's unique wig, which is something that not much information is available online.
At the same time, I checked the inside of the tank with a fiberscope camera and found it to be rusty, so I removed it with silica sand, then Kure Industries' Rust Remover to remove any fine rust, and applied phosphoric acid to prevent rust.
I think this will be helpful, as many PHOEBUS stoves have iron tanks that have rusted over time.
I cleaned the soot-covered parts with citric acid and an ultrasonic cleaner, and also with a brass brush and stripped electrical wire, being careful not to damage the parts.
