In this video, we're gonna get together and learn all about non-representational abstract painting. This is a good lesson for beginners on up! This is also an awesome way to use up old canvases that are covered in too much texture.
I’m painting on a 12x16-inch stretched canvas, but you are free to express yourself on any size and shape of canvas you like!
I used:
• A 1-inch flat brush
• A large scrubbing brush
• A palette knife (any size, any shape)
• Gloss Gel Heavy Medium
• Glass Bead Medium
• Modeling Paste
• Gloss Medium and Varnish (or Glazing Medium)
• But seriously, use WHATEVER you like! This is YOUR abstract painting!!
I’m using Liquitex Basics acrylic paint in the following colors:
• Mars Black
• Titanium White
• Burnt Umber
• Burnt Sienna
• Phthalocyanine Green
But you can use any colors you like.
