In this short video we review the second installment of our ten part video series on writing a fictional Civil War Novel. Part 2 dealt with opening our book with action and creating a strong hook for our readers. After a review we needed to edit and revise chapter 1. My review removed some unnecessary exhibition and details that hurt out action filled opening. With this accomplished, now we can move to Part 3: Major Battles Timelines. This is in keeping with our plan to use actual battles to fully develop our characters and the storyline.
After next week we will focus on writing the book. In the interim, we will post other indie writing advice videos until we can review key progress on our book, “Dying for Dixie.”
