Vice President Gaolathe Defends Loan Request, Clashes with Opposition Leader
Vice President Ndaba Gaolathe has defended the government’s loan request presented in Parliament, dismissing criticism from the Leader of Opposition, Dumelang Saleshando. In his response, Gaolathe challenged Saleshando to avoid making assumptions about his intentions and statements, insisting that claims attributed to him were inaccurate.
Saleshando reminded Parliament that both Gaolathe and President Duma Boko had previously promised to reduce their salaries as part of efforts to demonstrate fiscal responsibility. He argued that the loan request contradicted those commitments and raised concerns about leadership accountability.
