Pristine Kyrgyzstan: Trekking in Tian Shan

Kyrgyzstan is a beautiful country situated in the Tian Shan Mountains. Tian Shan means Heavenly Mountain. I travelled from Bishkek to Karakol. The road ran along the coast of Issyk Kul Lake. Issyk Kul is one of the largest lakes in the High Mountains. It was a Soviet Naval base and submarine testing center. Karakol was developed as an army post during the period of the Russian Empire. It is a small town below Tian Shan Mountain. The Holy Trinity Church at Karakol is an Old Russian Orthodox church. There is also a Dungan community Mosque here. The Dungan Community is the Chinese Muslim community, also known as Hui in China. I have done trekking in the beautiful Jeti-Oguz valley. Jeti-Oguz means Seven Bulls. I have also done hiking in the Altyn Arashan River valley. I have thoroughly enjoyed trekking in the Tian Shan Mountains.
