Blood Tribe Social Development Conference - “Aispommootsi’yaop” March 12, 2025
The Blood Tribe Social Development Conference was held on March 11, 12, and 13, 2025, at the Sandman Signature in Lethbridge, Alberta. The Conference focused on a central theme titled “Aispommootsi’yaop”, which is helping each other, through traditional values. Sessions held during the three day conference provided a unique opportunity for Social Development clients to take in keynote addresses, presentations, and knowledge.
The conference presentations focused on: traditional values, meeting the Social Development Committee, Blackfeet puppetry, early childhood development, an addictions panel, Good Movement, two-spirit presentation, and a traditional tipi setup.
On March 12, 2025, during the second day of the Blood Tribe Social Development Conference Martin Eagle Child from the Aitsi'poyiiksi Committee opened the day with a prayer and encouraged the Blood Tribe Social Development clients on the power of our Blackfoot spirituality and the importance of maintaining family connections.
