The Tibetan Rites are originally and traditionally 5, a form of Tibetan Yoga said to be more than 2,500 years old, which were brought to light in a publication by Peter Kelder called The Eye of Revelation, written in 1939. Kelder claims this series of exercises was used by Tibetan monks to live long, vibrant and healthy lives. He cited many benefits, including weight loss, better memory, improved physical strength, enhanced sense of wellbeing, even a reduction in the speed of the aging process.
That text only described five exercises. The “6th” and “7th” rites were added later by him , or by various teachers and authors inspired by him.
6th Rite — Added by Peter Kelder (but later in the book)
Kelder actually did describe a 6th rite, but not as part of the daily practice.
7th Rite — Later Additions by Other Teachers
The 7th rite does not appear in the original work. It has been added by:
Christopher S. Kilham (author of The Five Tibetans, 1994): He doesn’t add a formal 7th, but elaborates philosophically and encourages meditation after the rites.
Other yoga teachers have included a meditative or pranayama-based practice as a "seventh rite" more as a cool-down or integration than a movement.
1° Rite - I flow with life’s elements
2° Rite - I offer power and strength to each cell of my body
3° Rite -I open my heart to the sky
4° Rite --The power of life pulses in me
5° Rite -The flexibility of my body shapes my mind.
6º Rite - I feel the energy inside me
7º Rite - I follow the light and I grow
