Daniel C Potts MD is the 2025 recipient of the Invisible Disabilities Association’s Impact Award. He has been been chosen because as a Neurologist, a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and an author, Dr Potts has made a significant positive impact on people living with invisible disabilities, particularly those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. Inspired by his father’s journey with Alzheimer’s and the unexpected artistic talent that emerged, Dr Potts championed person-centered care and the expressive arts. Through his non-profit, Cognitive Dynamics, he strives to make these therapies widely available, fostering empathy and understanding for individuals with cognitive impairments and their care partners. Dr Potts’s work helps highlight the remaining strengths and potential for a good quality of life, even in the face of these challenging conditions.
