Pressure Injuries: Integumentary System - Medical-Surgical |

Cathy discusses pressure injuries (i.e., pressure ulcers, which is an outdated term). She explains the pathophysiology of pressure injuries, risk factors that make a patient at higher risk for pressure injuries, and assessment of a patient's risk for skin breakdown. Cathy covers pressure injury staging, explaining key characteristics of stage 1, stage 2, stage 3, stage 4, unstageable, and deep tissue injury (DTI) pressure injuries. She then explains treatment options and nursing care of pressure injuries. At the end of the video, Cathy provides a quiz to test your ability to stage a pressure injury given a description of the wound.
