Do you integrate hip and thoracic rotation into your programs?
Walking, running, and swinging a club or racket or paddle all require a combination of hip and thoracic rotation.
One of our favorite warm up patterns is the 1/2 kneel trunk rotation pattern. It targets spinal elongation, pure axial rotation, and hip rotation.
This is a great movement prep for the alternating KB row pattern.
🔑 Align the spine. Maintain a long spine posture during in the bent over (hip hinge / anterior pelvic tilt) position.
🔑🔑 Rotate on an axis that runs from the top of the head through the spine.
🔑🔑🔑 Use the appropriate progression. The single leg version is a great pattern for balance, postural control, and single leg stability.
