BOX BRAID PREP EPISODE 3 - PRE PARTING

Hey it’s J! Back with episode 3 of the braiding prep series

Today I am showing you how I pre-part my hair for small knotless braids
When parting my hair, I like to have 2 mirrors at hand, one in front of me, the other behind. This way I can see my head all around. I can also use the mirrors in rotation to see opposite sides of my head in order to achieve clean parts.

For the style I’m going to do, i parted 4 rows in the back, and 5 in the front (+ a small section at the front for my shorter hair)

I do have breakage in the front of my hair that I am trying to grow back. The hair at the front of my head is very short and tender so I try my best to make sure it’s not pulled tight. In the case of this hairstyle, I want to make sure the single braids at the front are not too tiny.
