Shocking Twist in Texas Cheerleader’s Bathtub Murder

Sixteen-year-old cheerleader Lizbeth Medina was found stabbed to death in the bathtub of her Texas home after she failed to show up for a Christmas parade, shocking her close-knit community. Investigators quickly identified and arrested 23-year-old Rafael Romero, who confessed to the murder and was linked to a burglary in the same complex, though officials never confirmed a motive. While Lizbeth’s mother hoped for a full trial and the maximum penalty, Romero struck a plea deal and received two concurrent life sentences plus 20 years.
