This extremely rare footage is courtesy of the U.S. National Archives in College Park, MD. It is official U.S. Army video of the processing of the Japanese Imperial Soldiers & civilian Colonial Govt. powers that unfairly & harshly ruled Korea for the 1st half of the 20th Century. The end of WWII saw the end of this occupation period that many Korean called the "Dark Period".
This is an example of the nature & depth of the research conducted in order to more fully understand the history of Taekwon-Do & the context of the times the development occurred in.
This segments shows the soldiers leaving on a boat. Notice the Japanese Flag, which flew over Korea for decades. Even Koreans that competed in the Olympics & winning Gold & Silver Medals in Berlin 1936, were forced to compete under that Flag & using Japanese names!
