Why the UK's Economy is Failing

The United Kingdom was once the heart of a global empire – these days it is a nation defined by rising inequality, stagnant wages, and a housing crisis spiralling out of control.

From Margaret Thatcher’s reforms of the 1980’s through to the Ukraine war, decades of political choices and economic mismanagement have pushed most of the UK towards economic decline while London surges ahead. Today this crisis looks endemic, leaving some analysts asking whether the country is becoming ‘Third World’.
