PRF from start to finish

Hi everyone, I'm Dr. Jennifer Schaumberg and I'm an oral surgeon. Today I'm going to be giving some step by step instructions on how to prepare for a bone graft using PRF (or platelet-rich fibrin).

✅ First, you'll want to make sure that you have all the necessary equipment and supplies for the procedure.

✅ Secondly, you'll need to make sure that the area you are operating on is clean and sterile.

✅ Thirdly, make sure to inject the site with a local anesthetic to ensure that the patient is comfortable during the procedure.

✅ Fourth, thoroughly irrigate the area to clean it before performing the bone graft.

✅ Fifth, mix the PRF with a bone grafting material and inject it into the area. Make sure to make the material fluid enough to be evenly distributed.

✅ Sixth, place a membrane or a sponge on top of the graft to help protect it and promote healing.

✅ Lastly, make sure to suture the area so that the graft stays in place.
