Hazy American IPA Fresh Wort Kit | LalBrew Pomona Yeast | All Inn Brewing Co FWK

In this video I've brewed an American IPA (India Pale Ale) from a Fresh Wort Kit made by ​⁠All Inn Brewing Co. This is another video in the Fresh Wort Kit series where I'm brewing every FWK that All Inn Brewing has to offer. I'm hoping this helps you decide on which Fresh Wort Kit you decide to brew.

Contained within the box is a 15L bladder. You can either decide the brew this as is, or top up with water to reach your desired volume. I went with 20L and my recommendation would be 23-25L because you lose a lot of beer to trub in the bottom of the fermenter - mostly due to the large amounts of hop matter from the wort.

Tasting notes: Resinous floral hops on a light malt base.
Dry hop suggestion: Citra 50g and Centennial 50g.
Yeast suggestion: SafAle US-05
I actually opted to increase the dry hop to 100g of each for a bigger, juicier flavour and aroma. For the yeast, I used Lallemands LalBrew Pomona Modern Hybrid IPA Yeast.

This Pomona yeast is a hybrid yeast selected for flavour and performance in highly hopped beers. A fruity, stress tolerant, and robust strain that enhances biotransformation for modern IPA’s. Imparting a unique flavour combination of apricot, peach, citrus and tropical fruits. Apparently this yeast really impacts the juiciness of an IPA and also makes it turn hazy, so we may end up with a Hazy American IPA.

I can’t recommend the Pomona yeast enough! It turned this American IPA into a Hazy American IPA. The colour and the flavours this yeast has provided is phenomenal!

The aroma is quite unique, it has the resinous floral smell outlined in the tasting notes, with a touch of malt. I also found some citrus in there too.
The taste definitely had some citrus and floral flavours in the after-taste. Nice and malty which is nice. The finish is actually quite dry and crisp. Much drier than I was expecting, but it is also quite heavy to drink too due to the yeast and hops.
Would I brew this again? Absolutely! This is by far my most favourite beer that I have brewed on this channel to date.

My recommendation: Try this American IPA Fresh Wort Kit from All Inn Brewing Co. If you can get your hands on the Pomona Yeast, throw that in there too!

Recipe Details
• 15L Draught Fresh Wort Kit
• 5L Tap Water
• 11g LalBrew Pomona Yeast
• 100g Citra hops
• 100g Centennial Hops

Fermentation Schedule:
• Pitch yeast at 20°C
• Ferment at 20°C 3PSI for 7 days
• Soft Crash to 15°C
• Dry hop on day 5 for 2 days
• Cold crash at 2°C for 2 days

Results - Hazy Inn America IPA FWK
• Starting Gravity 1.050
• Final Gravity 1.0016
• ABV 6.35%
