Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 003C Competizione by Manifattura Automobili Torino - Imola Circuit

This is the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 003C Competizione made and developed by Manifattura Automobili Torino. With this video, we leap into the past in 2016, when I was lucky enough to see it in action during a test session at the Imola racetrack. This is the first model made by a US car manufacturer, and the company used Italian expertise to create it. Paolo Garella, a former Pininfarina designer, took care of the engineering while Granstudio Design developed the exteriors and interiors. I find it a very well-done job. Available in different versions, in the video, we see the racing SCG 003C (Competizione) equipped with a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine derived from Honda modified by Autotechnica Motori d'Italia and capable of developing 530 bhp (373 kW) at 6.800 rpm and 700 Nm of torque at 4.500 rpm. The car with a carbon chassis and body weighs just 1350 kg, as FIA regulations require. This specimen, chassis 001, was used for development tests and subsequently, together with chassis 002, took part in the 24H Nurburgring in 2015. Enjoy! 😉

Questa è la Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 003C Competizione realizzata e sviluppata dalla Manifattura Automobili Torino. Con questo video facciamo un salto nel passato, precisamente nel 2016 quando ho avuto la fortuna di vederla in azione durante una sessione di test presso l'Autodromo di Imola. Si tratta del primo modello realizzato dalla casa automobilistica Statunitense e per realizzarlo l'azienda si è avvalsa della competenza italiana. Paolo Garella, ex designer Pininfarina si è occupato dell'ingegnerizzazione mentre lo studio di design Granstudio ha sviluppato gli esterni e gli interni. Personalmente trovo sia un lavoro molto ben fatto. Disponibile in diverse versioni nel video vediamo la versione da corsa SCG 003C (Competizione) dotata di un motore V6 biturbo da 3.5-litri di derivazione Honda modificato dalla Autotechnica Motori d'Italia ed in grado di sviluppare 530 bhp (373 kW) a 6.800 giri/min e 700 Nm du coppia a 4.500 giri/min. L'auto con telaio e carrozzeria in carbonio ha un peso di soli 1350 kg come richiesto dai regolamenti FIA. Questo esemplare, chassis 001, è stato utilizzato per i test di sviluppo e successivamente assieme al telaio 002 ha preso parte alla 24H del Nurburgring nel 2015. Buona visione! 😉
