Trains at Harrogate - 07/01/2025

Filmed on 07/01/2025. So, a rather special spotting session and place as this is my home town, a place where was born and bred for 18 1/2 years of my lifetime before the biggest move with the family to the Yorkshire Coast. This is my home town of Harrogate (Season 12 Episode 4)

So, what can be said about this spa town? Over the years from memory is the line used to be dominated by the Pacer Trains (Class 142/144) which used to work the line, as well as a few pairings of class 150's, 153's with class 155's and even the daily class 158. Now, the daily class 158 from memory would work the first train to York via Harrogate before forming a service to Hull. Although, Northern did operate and extend the run from Leeds to York via Harrogate to continue onwards for Hull. Recently, Northern did it similar when they sent a class 155 on the first train to York then will form a service to Hull.

A massive boost for the LNER direct services between Harrogate to London Kings Cross via Leeds now for every 2 hours with their popular and common class 800/801. All these LNER Azuma's serves Horsforth along the route.
