Hello, it's nice to see you here too.
Would you like to take a walk with me?
I want to share some more information about this area.

Helsinki is a city in full development and here we can clearly experience the change.
South of Kalasatama is the district of Sompasaari.
Which is also currently under development.
With homes for about 4,000 residents.
A beautiful pier for ships open to the public, such as restaurant ships along the coast.
This area is expected to be completed in 2026.
Kalasatama and Sompasaari are seperated by a newly dug channel called Sompasaarenkanava 'Sompasaari channel'.
Many streets are named after people who used to do business in the district's harbor.

Kalasatama will be the eastern heart of Helsinki's city center.
This area used to house a cargo port and small-scale industry, but today it provides homes and jobs to thousands of people.
The excellent location, lively urban culture and a seaside promenade attract new residents.
This former industrial area is undergoing a major transformation, emerging as one of the most modern urban districts in Finland.
It is also home to Finland's only (currently) 3 skyscrapers: Lumo One, Loisto & Majakka.
Construction began in 2009 and is expected to be completed in 2040.
A home to 25,000 inhabitants, 10,000 jobs with 6 km of coast and only 6 min by metro to the city center.

There are currently 3 high-rise buildings in Kalasatama.
The first is 'Majakka', completed in 2019, 'Loisto' was completed in 2021, the third tower 'Lumo One' is scheduled for completion in September 2022.
A fourth tower, 'T7', is expected to be completed in 2023 and a fifth office tower in 2024.

Kalatasama is part of the smart urban development project.
The area is always being developed flexibly and through trials in collaboration with residents, companies and city operators.
The goal is to make a district so resource-wise that it would save residents an hour of their time per day.
With innovations that focus on smart sensors and robotics.
Guide robots in doctor's offices, robot buses and food delivery robots.
Kalasatama will continue to function as one of Helsinki's urban laboratories for innovative solutions.
