I installed 2008 Kawasaki KFX450 shocks on my 2001 Honda TRX400EX (Fourtrax / Sportrax 400EX). It lower’s the front a little bit, but the adjustability easily makes up for it. You can tune the height and the adjust rebound. TRX450R Shocks are also a good option if you’re looking to get them rebuilt. Obviously the ideal shocks are built for your weight and riding style (Elka, Fox, Costum Axis), but for recreative / agressive trail riding the KFX450 shocks work very well and are quite affordable — A good budget mod.
