Empty Chair is a short play performed at the little red church - Calvary Episcopal Church, Santa Cruz, California on July 9 & 10, 4pm, 2022. It features four early Santa Cruz pioneers: Eliza and Joseph Boston and Agnes and Hiram Scott, their lives and their struggles.
Written by Dana Bagshaw this play is her fifth production teaming with Matt Matthews as Director. Eliza is being played by Dana's daughter, Shannon Casey. Joshua Hughes as Joseph Boston and Rubina Mazurka as Agnes Scott. Jay Toppings, Scotts Valley historian, braved his first drama performance as Hiram Scott, whom he has impersonated many times before in monologues for local historical events.
