Today's piece is "Fairytale of New York" by Jeremy Finer & Shane MacGowan. This arrangement can be found in Hal Leonard's collection of Jazz Piano Solos in the volume called "Christmas Classics". This collection of jazz arrangements was written by Brent Edstrom.
This Christmas classic is unfamiliar to me, but what a pretty song! I enjoyed learning this one. It has a beautiful melody and some pretty sweet chords. It's a nice peaceful sounding arrangement, with a gentle lilt to it. It suits the jazz style so well (I say that about all the songs--hee hee). Enjoy!
