Hello everyone!
Frankfurt's Weihnachtsmarkt is located in several locations. Today, we'll walk from Hauptwache to Paulsplatz.
The history of Christmas markets dates back to ancient times. The first Christmas markets appeared in the Middle Ages, in the 13th and 14th centuries. They were held to stock up on food for the winter.
In the Middle Ages, winter markets were used to buy goods for winter survival, such as meat, honey, and hay.
Over time, the Fair's assortment expanded, adding decorations, toys, sweets (stolens), and entertainment, becoming part of the Christmas season.
Even today, while walking through the Fair, we can see many stalls that offer visitors traditional Christmas products, as well as a large selection of toys, souvenirs, and hot food.
Carousels, music, garlands of lights - all this creates a festive atmosphere.
