We are honoured to be joined today by His Excellency Roy Eriksson, the Ambassador at the Embassy of Finland in Canada since 2019. Notably, this marks his second representation of Finland in Canada. Ambassador Eriksson arrived in Canada from Mexico, where he served as the Ambassador of Finland to Mexico and the concurrent Ambassador of Finland to Central America. His distinguished career in Finland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs began in 1990. He has held significant positions within the Ministry, the latest being the Department for Americas and Asia, where he worked as the Director for Latin America and the Caribbean. Ambassador Eriksson has rendered his services in Türkiye, Germany, and the Finnish Permanent Mission to the European Union in Brussels. Additionally, he has a Master's Degree in Political Science from the University of Helsinki.
